Standard coverages

The following protections are included on most mobile/modular home policies:

Dwelling

If your home is damaged by a covered peril, dwelling coverage helps to repair or replace the physical structure.

Belongings

Your personal property, such as furniture, appliances, clothing and electronics, is covered up to a specified limit if lost or damaged in a covered incident. Keep in mind, if you’re in possession of jewelry, expensive artwork, or any other valuables, you may have to “schedule” the item on your policy (also known as adding an “insurance rider”).

Liability

If a household member is responsible for someone else’s injury or damaged property, personal liability coverage can cover you up to your policy’s limits.

Loss of use

Also known as “additional living expenses,” loss of use coverage can pay for meals and hotel costs if can’t live in your home because of a covered loss.

Extra manufactured home insurance coverage

Depending on your provider and state, you may be able to add additional protection, including:

Replacement cost coverage

Protect your home and your belongings against depreciation. Optional replacement cost coverage gives you the money you need to repair or replace what’s damaged without depreciating the value.

Trip collision coverage

While your home is on the move, protect against any damage to your home from a collision. Coverage is for one move during a specific 30-day period.

Single deductible benefit

You’re only responsible for one deductible if you bundle  mobile home and auto insurance and a claim applies to both. If you didn’t have both policies, you’d end up paying two separate deductibles. This benefit is only available in certain states.
